Spaying and neutering is the most important preventative action we can take to end pet overpopulation. For this reason, Compassion In Action encourages and subsidizes this vital means of population control.
Compassion In Action’s Spay/Neuter Assistance program provides financial assistance to those who are unable to afford the surgery.
Because our funding is extremely limited, we ask that you explore other options in your area before applying for assistance.
Suggestions: Price shop. The costs of spaying and neutering vary widely from one vet to another. We encourage you to contact all vets in your area to compare prices. Also contact your local humane society and animal rescue groups to see if they offer low-cost spay/neuter services.
Ask about payment options. Some vets may allow you to make low monthly payments toward the cost of the surgery. In the long run, spaying and neutering often saves money in reduced vet bills later.
If you need financial assistance for spaying/neutering, please contact us for an application. The amount of assistance we offer is determined on a case-by-case basis and is often dependent upon available funding. In most cases, we pay a portion of the cost and you must cover the remainder. Recipients are required to help reduce costs by contacting multiple vets in their area to obtain the best price. Payments are made directly to the veterinarian.
